The Chariho Youth Task Force is a 501(c)3 nonprofit working primarily in Charlestown, Hopkinton, and Richmond, Rhode Island. Our mission is to educate, empower, and engage youth and adults in order to create a sense of community, promote wellness, and sustain opportunities for Chariho voices to be heard. We envision a society driven toward physical and mental well-being created through collaboration, education, and activism to promote a positive community climate.
This position will primarily work to grow and sustain the Davisville Hangouts programs created by the Chariho Youth Task Force in collaboration with the North Kingstown School Department’s Office of Family Learning.
Job Description:
The Davisville Youth Organizer will:

Conduct community outreach to youth and potential partners
-
Recruit and retain youth members for the Davisville Hangouts program

Train, mentor and supervise community youth leaders

Support youth engagement and mobilization
-
Work with youth to develop and conduct programs/activities/initiatives that address their needs

Link individual youth in need of health/ behavioral health or social services with the CHW or school supports

Make connections and leverage resources to foster greater opportunities for youth enrichment, recreation, employment, self-discovery, skill acquisition, career planning

Document youth narratives and data required for project evaluation
Additional Details:

The position will have flexible working hours and will require some evenings and weekend work for certain events/projects

The position is reliant on available grant funds

The staff person will work in the community / remote work from home
The Ideal Applicant will:

Passion for youth and fostering youth potential

Experience with youth leadership or youth development programs/initiatives in some capacity
-
Interest in community development & improving the lives of low income/working-class families of color
-
Highly organized; able to achieve goals in multiple work areas within established timelines

Ability to resolve conflicts, problem solve, and initiate solutions
-
Excellent attention to detail, follow-through, and project management skills

Strong oral and written communication skills

Strong computer skills that include documentation and data entry

Self-motivated and well organized, with a demonstrated record of successfully achieving goals and being accountable to results

Live, work, or have a strong connection to the Davisville Community.
